Fighting for Smiles

Posted November 27, 2013 by Sandra Kuipers

Manny Pacquiao and Brandon Rios aren’t the only ones fighting it out in the ring. TIS’ Head of School, Howard Stribbell, is preparing for an important bout of his own on Thursday night in Hong Kong. Mr. Stribbell is competing in the Hong Kong White Collar MMA Championship, which combines the ultimate fitness challenge with an opportunity to raise funds for worthwhile charities. Mr. Stribbell is aiming to raise 20,000 HKD for Operation Smile, a charity that repairs cleft palates and cleft lips for children whose families cannot afford the operation. He’s using an online crowd sourcing site http://bit.ly/1aUMLlU and Facebook to raise the funds. Donations can also be made at the main office of TIS. Mr. Stribbell has been training since June and has had to study boxing, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jujitsu and MMA. Best of luck tomorrow!!
