Annual Chinese New Year Celebrations

Posted on January 29, 2019

By Emma Li, Grade 12

Every year, TIS celebrates Chinese New Year before the holiday break. A multitude of festivities and performances took place throughout the whole day. The day started with the traditional dragon and lion dance, followed by the performances of traditional Chinese songs “Happy New Year” and “Jasmine”. Other performances included Qipao Fashion Show by our teachers and staff, Bian Lian, and many more. There were also face painting, shadow play, Chinese paper cutting, archery and dumpling booths in the MPR.

Congratulations on a wonderful and successful event. Thank you to all the Chinese teachers and student volunteers who worked tirelessly in organising and and running the event.

We wish everyone a prosperous and healthy Year of the Pig!
