A Note From TISPA

Posted September 9, 2013 by Sandra Kuipers

TISPA kicked off the 2013/2014 school year with our first meeting on Thursday 5th September where we successfully elected a new executive committee.  Please welcome:

  • Co Presidents – Louise Davies & Gwen Letelier
  • Secretary English – Julie Kirkman
  • Secretary Chinese – Rosita Leong
  • Treasurer – Lorna Elliott
  • Events Co-ordinator – Marissa Becker
  • Parent Liaisons- Kathy Seto & Rin Yang
I would like to thank Donna Sandel (Mandarin Secretary) , Caroline Koutsouridis (Treasurer) and Madalena Zancan de Melo (Events co-ordinator) for all of their hard work this past year.  I would like to extend a warm welcome to the parents who have stepped up and volunteered to fill these vacant roles and a thank-you to those who have agreed to continue on in their role for another year.
Of course, we cannot succeed in delivering all of the events scheduled for this year without YOU – our volunteers! The Mid Autumn Festival is fast approaching on Thursday, September 19 and we are in need of volunteers to help between 6-9 p.m. If you are free for one hour or for the whole event, please email me with your availability at gwen.jose@gmail.com. We need people to look after the following booths:
  • BBQ: Table 3-4 people
  • Drinks Table: 2-3 people
  • Glow Stick & Lanterns:  2 people
  • Luck dips & Tattoos – 2 people
  • Face Painting – 2 artistic people (so long as you can face paint)
  • Bake Sale – 3 people

I look forward to all of your help and putting on a successful and great night for our kids and the TIS community!

Gwen Letelier, Co-President, TISPA
