Run of Hope

A Partnership Built On Hope

Posted May 7, 2013 by Sandra Kuipers

The International School of Macao is pleased to partner with the Four Seasons Hotel Macao to help raise awareness and funds for cancer research through the Run of Hope on Sunday, November 3, 2013. Last year, the Four Seasons Hotel Macao donated MOP 105,000 to support the Evangelize Fellowship Orphanage and the cancer program at Kiang Wu Hospital. The aim of this year’s Run of Hope is to attract more participants and raise more funds than ever before.  TIS looks forward to partnering with Four Seasons Hotel to help them meet their goal. “The Run of Hope is a great event and something the whole family can do together,” says Head of School Howard Stribbell, adding, “We really hope the TIS community will get behind it and show their support by participating.”

The Run of Hope consists of a 5 km run and a 3 km family walk, plus pre and post event fund-raising activities, such as the popular Pasta Nights and BBQ Brunch, held at Splash, the Four Season Hotel’s poolside restaurant.

The Run of Hope is held annually at Four Seasons hotels around the world. The event was inspired by Canadian Terry Fox who ran across Canada in 1980, raising 24 million dollars for cancer research. Fox died of cancer during his cross country run. Stay tuned for more details in coming months. In the meantime, be sure to mark Sunday, November 3rd on your calendar.
