Posted January 16, 2014 by Sandra Kuipers
Secondary Mandarin teacher Ms. Amanda Chap was a presenter at the 2013 International Conference of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language in Kaohsiung, Taiwan this past December. The conference brings together scholars and teachers of the Chinese language worldwide to discuss new developments in teaching Chinese as a second language. In her presentation, Ms. Chap discussed how to use chants or rhymes (which she wrote) in the classroom to help students memorize new words faster and easier. Ms. Chap has also written a book to help other Chinese teachers.
