The high school art students were challenged to create sculptures with “forbidden” as the theme. Secondary art teacher, Ms. Somnez, gave the students the freedom to come up with any topic related to the theme as a base for their artwork. Some concepts the students have focused on included Pandora’s Box, sexism, and beauty standards. After a week of research and another two for planning their concepts, the students finally began turning their ideas into sculptures. The students used different types of recycled materials such as tape, cloth and wires to create their final sculptures. Come visit the art room on the fourth floor of South wing (4010) to see the progressing works of our creative art students.
