Wired, Wireless, and Online

The internet is an indispensable tool in education and TIS is committed to effective use of technology in the regular classroom. All classrooms are connected to our network and also have wireless access. In addition to regular computer labs, iPads and wireless laptops are also available for classroom use. Classrooms have SmartBoards, projectors and speaker systems. Students and parents have access to the TIS online community (class resources, report cards, and transcripts) through Gibbon, the school’s education management system.  All elementary teachers have a class blog for communicating and sharing.

Athletics

TIS offers both competitive and participation-based athletics. The TIS Tigers’ teams compete locally and internationally in a variety of leagues. By using volunteer coaches and only charging fees on a cost-recovery basis, students have opportunities to play sport year-round and have opportunities to play across Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan and mainland China in sports such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, badminton, tennis, swimming, golf, cross country and track and field. Each year, the Tigers’ athletics staff work to expand student participation and opportunities to ensure that our students reap the physical and mental benefits of participation in sport.

Security

TIS is a safe, yet welcoming environment. All visitors are required to register with the security guard to obtain a visitor ID badge. The building has numerous security cameras both inside and outside. The School’s well-established ‘Kiss ‘N Ride’ program has also enhanced the safety of student pick up and drop off.

Cantina

The school’s food service provider is Future Bright Group, the largest food and beverage enterprise in Macau with over 30 restaurants. Future Bright Group operates out of a modern, full service kitchen in the MPR. All meals are cooked on-site and made fresh. Future Bright provides lunch for the day students and provides all of the meals for the boarding students.
